AUDIENCE REVIEWS

Joni

This beautiful show perfectly captures the voices of many women; voices that are usually silenced by society or the women themselves. To hear these stories is a reminder that time does NOT take away everything good. And, yes, sex is so much better after menopause (and I would know)!

Lynda

I just saw this completely original, energetic, thought provoking collection of well-acted , well written and well thought out stories about and by postmenopausal women. I expect this to be entertaining but it was so much more than I had expected. It was sexy and hilariously funny. Women over 50 are bad asses! Don't miss it.

Rob

Oh my goodness what an array or hit, thought-provoking, and poignant stories told and written by women 50 and over. We all need these stories and these women in our lives. Go see this show right away

Regina M

Start to finish, this show entranced me with the bold storytelling, Michael’s performance in particular made my toes curl, and there was laughing, crying, and relatable moments throughout! Take a look behind the curtain of the after 50 woman- we have plenty of living to do!

Evelin D

This show really touched the heart of women’s sexual/sensual lives as we age. It was a powerful reminder that we can create and live our own stories- not the one’s we saw from our mother’s and grandmother’s. Menopause IS sexy. Menopause is HOT (and not in just the flashy sense). Menopause gives us the ability to have discernment, joy, and pleasure in our bodies. See this SHOW! It is so amazing and powerful. ❤️

Ginger

What a glorious, hilarious, magical evening celebrating desire and pleasure! Can't wait for the next show!

Shannon

Saw this MOST GLORIOUS show yesterday! When I hear people going on about invisible woman syndrome, the lack of menopause discussion, the sexuality lives of older women., etc., etc., etc., I’m like, “Yeah, no. That’s not the messaging I’m receiving AT ALL!” And that’s because I’m fortunate enough to be part of a thriving community of shameless, badass crones who refuse to live by bullshit capitalist narratives and who refuse to keep their mouths shut. GO SEE THIS SHOW and drink-in the stuff of life. REAL LIFE, not the shit they’ve been feeding us since the dawn of consumerism. This show is a celebration you don’t want to miss!

Steve

YA'LL! You must see this if you can. Only 4 more shows and it is, as all of Eleanor O'Brien's shows are, simply phenomenal. This amazing ensemble cast of ten women tell stories from the heart. Sometimes sad, often joyful, always hot, these stories are all deeply moving and delivered with incredible passion by everyone.

Aly

I had the pleasure and privilege of seeing opening night, and left feeling empowered. Watching this group of strong individuals speaking about desire and our bodies and self love was so beautiful! I particularly liked the piece describing a lover worshiping the speaker.

Anon

I could hear my story countless times in their voices- such big chunks of our lives seeing ourselves through inappropriate filters, overlooking the right to be selfish when it comes to pleasure! Our’s.

Cate

Definitely an interesting event! I didn't know what to expect, and it was amazing. I can't tell you more--you'll just have to see it!

Anon

I heard my story and my desires and my longings.

Shannon

I was so delighted and impressed in going to the show that I went a second time and brought my partner. The show is magic for all, but really centers, the female experience and knowing our sensuality and expressing our sexuality. I felt seen, I felt relief, I felt sisterhood, and all of that was wrapped up in joy, in humor, and in confident reflection. I can confidently say this is a performance with impact that leaves you thinking, wondering, shifting so you integrate and become a better version of you and likely a better version in your partnership. I highly recommend witnessing the creativity of this collective.

Timo

10 women over a certain age tell stories, some their own, some written by another, about exploring their sexuality while confronting self-judgements and internally-created barriers. Provocative and engaging. Just what theater should be. It asks, in essence: how are we each limiting what we dare do (in this instance sexually) because our own stories of ourselves, what’s acceptable or "socially appropriate", etc. How might we each be more courageous in seeking what we truly want?

Leah

I left this show feeling like I had just met versions of myself in the future! I had previously seen Eleanor’s Inviting Desire in my 20s, and appreciated the way the show asked and provided answers for questions I didn’t yet have language for. The writing, shaped by women’s voices, felt intimate and honest. Now, in my 40s, Igniting Desire lands somewhere deeper. There’s something powerful about witnessing women’s experiences of pleasure centered so unapologetically, especially in ways that challenge dominant narratives, decolonize desire, and expand what it means to feel alive in our bodies over time. The show reframes aging not as loss, but as expansion, as possibility, and as power. Thank you for bringing these stories so honestly and candidly into a public forum so that we might witness and celebrate them! The show made me hopeful and genuinely excited for what’s still unfolding for me as I continue to become myself.
