About the event

Wild Body: An Erotica Writing Workshop for Women Over 50

Arousal changes as we age. It becomes more elusive, harder to predict, less obedient to old scripts. Which means we have to hunt for it differently.

We're no longer sex kittens—we've graduated to the big cats 😋. Cheetahs, jaguars, cougars. Bastet if you're feeling fancy.

(Or maybe we've become cat ladies?) Either way, we're going feral.

This workshop is about tapping into your inner predator.

We are done shrinking for the gaze of others. We take up space through desire, wisdom, and earned power.

It's not that we give no fucks; our fucks are just more discerning.

This four-hour workshop invites women over 50 to explore desire and embodiment through play, improvisation, and somatic practice, then capture what we discover in writing that's expansive, mythological, authentic, and brave.

Led by theater artists Eleanor O'Brien and Christine McHugh, we start from the body. We use movement, voice, and theatrical exercises to stimulate imagination and surprise ourselves. Then we write erotica that reflects what we find: honest, irreverent, wild.

You don't need to identify as "sex positive." You don't need writing experience. You just need curiosity and willingness to play - to investigate what desire looks like when it arrives on its own terms, in a body that knows itself differently now.

Through guided exercises and confidential group sharing, we'll create erotica that:

♦︎ Reaches beyond conventional scripts into something primal, mythic & expansive

♦︎ Investigates the spark that flickers in unexpected places

♦︎ Celebrates bodies that have changed, weathered & ripened

This workshop is part of the development process for Dance Naked Creative's upcoming production about women's sexuality and aging, premiering April 2026. Participants may choose to have their work considered for inclusion in the show.

Includes: Somatic warmups, theatrical play, writing exercises, vegetarian lunch, community, permission to surprise yourself

Where: Private home in SW Portland

About Your Instructors

Christine McHugh mashed up a life in theater with life-coach training to help people transform their messiest truths into spoken memoir. She's directed 30+ solo shows, toured her own (Parents Must Be Dead toured the US in 2018), recently landed in Portland for the creative oxygen, and teaches theater, improv, and leadership everywhere from elementary classrooms to corporate boardrooms.

Eleanor O'Brien is the artistic director for Dance Naked Creative and has been developing a theater of eros for the last 20 years. Her shows specialize in being educational, theatrical, erotic, and often wildly funny. Her work centers arousal as art form - she produced and directed the Inviting Desire series (2009, 2010, and 2012) and is currently touring her solo show (an ode to pussy & pleasure) Plan V: The Rise of Reverence.

Space is limited to 8 participants per session. Register early to secure your spot.
