Dance Naked Creative is seeking self-identified women ages 50+ for an intimate staged reading featuring erotic monologues, sexual storytelling, and tales of transformation.
About the Production: Igniting Desire is an evening of storytelling. We are exploring how desire transforms through aging. We're moving past tired narratives of decline and loss. We are centering stories of how desire becomes more elusive, more discerning, occasionally more surprising as we grow riper. We are crafting a script that features personal narratives, mythological reimagining, and original takes on the erotic.
We're Looking For:

Self-identified women ages 50-90+

Comfort with explicit sexual content and erotic material

Range of backgrounds, body types, ethnicities, and perspectives

Strong interpretive skills for staged reading format

Willingness to work collaboratively in an intimate setting
Format: Staged reading (no memorization required)
AUDITIONS:
FEB 4 - 7-9pm
FEB 18 - 7-9pm
*online auditions will happen on zoom, in a group environment. Each person will be given 5 minutes to read (examples of erotic material provided, you are welcome to supply your own).

Time Commitment
Rehearsal Schedule: rehearsals will be held between March 26- April 14. The specific schedule will be drafted with cast availability in mind (availability the weekend of April 11-12 is non-negotiable). Up to 20 hours of rehearsal time requested (we will do our best to accommodate schedules)
Performance Dates: April 15 (7:00pm), April 18 (1:00pm) April 19 (7:30pm)
Performance Venue: The Back Door Theater
Renumeration: Participants will receive a percentage of ticket sales (not less than $50).

About Dance Naked Creative:
For 20 years, Dance Naked Creative has been making theater of eros—funny, feminist, and willing to explore what really turns us on. The original Inviting Desire: A Theatrical Aphrodisiac (Fertile Ground 2009) featured monologues as wildly different as Ariadne and the Minotaur and a post-workout shower fantasy featuring Obama, plus hair-pulling demos with audience participation and unapologetically erotic storytelling that danced on the line of propriety.
The show evolved through multiple iterations: a fringe festival tour across Canada (Lubricate Your Libido), an exploration of permission with ritual breath-fucking and homeopathic ecstasy (Pleasure, Permission, Possibility), and investigations of ethical non-monogamy and monogamous pair-bonding (The Dawn of Sex).
Igniting Desire continues this legacy of subversive, boundary-pushing theater that is both arousing, inspirational, and wholesome af.
